On-site training

We offer an on-site training experience which has been valued by family therapists, public health nurses, elementary and secondary educators, social workers, foster parents, street workers, physicians, probation officers, prison workers, people development/professional development specialists, managers, and many others.

The Rhizome Way provides an experience of a particular way of engaging in work

It is not the work of fixing, whether that is fixing people, fixing communities or workplaces.  But it is a work of honouring -- honouring life and community, honouring those innumerable gifts which circulate within people's lives and their rhyzome-communities. It is a work of honouring relationships, coming to see and appreciate those varied connections which sustain us in our daily lives (even those relationships which often frustrate).

Central to this work is the idea that the lives and worlds we wish are created -- not simply by individual action, but through the movements of rhizome community.  We always create lives and worlds together.

Again to emphasize, this work is a work of creation.  Human lives and community don't just happen, they are made.  And, in the process things are also created -- many things.  Things made by hands -- arts, crafts, even equipment and machines. Also, words are created: ways of talking, singing, writing, all which bring people together; which generate new understandings and hope. These acts of creations come from and return to life itself, and community is formed through the process. 

But, we actually create much more than community. We create a people: a people which, in a way, has not yet arrived. This work creates a people of tomorrow, a future. Not a future of gloom and decay, but a place in time where the gifts we share today return multiplied tomorrow within the lives of our children and grandchildren.

The Rhyzome Way is a work of creating ways and means whereby we can together create a people and a future.
